There are numerous resources that we can point out, if you need to learn about data storytelling or if you need a quick refresher:

1. Review some stories on USAFacts - they inspired Tyche Insights. We hope you can take both inspiration and practical advice from their stories. Look at subjects that you are informed on and subject matter that is new to you. We found this story on mental health to be fascinating as an example of the latter (and a well-constructed data story).

2. Visual Capitalist is another solid source of ideas, heavily focused on the presentation of data using infographics.

3. Listen to the Storytelling with data podcast. Cole Nussbaumer Knaflic hosts an informative podcast. Need a recommendation? Try #49: become a data viz superstar is great.

4. Data Storytelling: How to Effectively Tell a Story with Data by Catherine Cote is a solid overview to get started.

5. Data Storytelling: 6 Tips - Tips 1 & 3 about audience and contextualizing your data story are valuable

6. How to Identify Your Audience for Impactful Data Storytelling is a longer form article about identifying your audience and what that implies

7. Data Storytelling Do’s and Don’ts for Top-Tier Communication - we call this article out for a quick “Don’ts” tips about overloading your audience and not contextualizing

8. The Data Stories Gallery - Microsoft Fabric Community has interesting data story examples

9. The Project Gallery from Esri has many map-centric data story examples

We are always interested in hearing about the resources that you draw from that help you tell a data story - let us know.
